Safeguarding state-of-the-art laboratories and research facilities

Vibration control and technology strategies are critical in creating today’s complex laboratory environments.

Academic laboratories and research facilities utilize many types of high resolution and precision instruments and processes which require very low noise levels and controlled vibration. We accomplish this by visiting the site to identify any adverse noise and vibration in the existing environment, tracking it down and exploring alternative engineering methods for mitigation, if feasible.

In order to create the quiet, stable environments research facilities require, acoustic design must always be applied both internally and externally. We are experts in achieving the high levels of vibration control typically required in these types of facilities and have applied these solutions to both the building structure and the isolation of vibration-sensitive equipment.

Academic research facilities also have extensive audiovisual needs. Paging systems, SMART Boards, and videoconferencing equipment have become important resources both for instructors and administrators. As academic laboratories are typically smaller in class size than most university classes, they will often include a portable cart with equipment for audio or videoconferencing.
