Senior Associate, ICT infrastructure design

Design of standards-compliant information communication transport systems for commercial, government, cultural/civic, healthcare and education construction projects.  The team member will coordinate with project managers and design professionals in AV, IT, security, and acoustics in developing solutions to meet client requirements and contribute to achieving Cerami’s strategic goals for the regional technology studios.


  • Interface with clients, owners, and design team members
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings and client programming and review meetings
  • Communicate IT infrastructure technology concepts to clients including LAN/WAN, Wireless, DAS, PON, RTLS, etc.
  • Run programming meetings and prepare agendas, meeting minutes, basis of design reports, field reports, and coordination documents
  • Generate technology budgets for projects
  • Design structured cabling systems to support IT, MEP, security, BAS, audiovisual and broadcast services
  • Design pathways and spaces including equipment room rack/cabinet layouts and elevations, conduits and cable trays, specify infrastructure hardware for projects
  • Develop power and cooling load projections for technology spaces and coordinate with MEP engineer
  • Develop drawings and CSI specifications as part of an architectural construction document package
  • Establish and strengthen relationships with Architects and Owners through high quality deliverables with an attention to detail
  • Provide field coordination of systems installations, and review commissioning reports and test results
  • Project manage large multidiscipline IT/SEC/AV infrastructure projects
  • Delegate project responsibilities as appropriate and review all outgoing work
  • Prepare & deliver design and marketing/sales presentations for end user clients
  • Evaluate RFPs and develop scope, approach, and fee proposals
  • Meet with vendors to evaluate new product and technologies
  • Continue development of design processes and standards
  • Provide technical guidance, management, and mentorship to junior staff

Required Skills

  • 8 years or more experience in structured cabling and 5 years or more experience in engineering/design
  • BS degree in engineering or IT technology or equivalent military experience in related fields
  • Knowledge of industry standards BICSI and TIA/EIA, Industry certifications (RCDD, PMP)
  • Ability to prioritize and concurrently service multiple projects
  • Experience designing multicarrier DAS preferred.
  • CAD work experience, Revit work experience preferred,
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Teams
  • Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience with Deltek Vision CRM preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a criminal background check
