Chief Operating Officer

The Chief Operating Officer position provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that Cerami has the right people in place, efficient operational controls and methodologies, administrative and reporting procedures to effectively meet established goals, grow Cerami, and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. The successful candidate will be a key member of Cerami’s leadership team and will be critical driver of Cerami’s operating disciplines that will ensure profitable growth, impeccable client service, and development of our people. He or she will collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization to achieve sustainability and scalability of Cerami. This person accomplishes this through a team-based focus which is thoughtful, empathetic, constructive, energetic and guided by passionate responsibility, a guiding Cerami principle.

Essential Functions

  • Day-to-day leadership, management, and improvement of Cerami’s critical orders to cash business processes. Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth and innovation strategies and processes that mirror the mission and core values of Cerami.
  • Act as lead “client-care officer” to ensure direct contact with every client and partner/principal and that client needs and issues are being addressed in a timely fashion.
  • Responsible for the measurement of and achieving all processes internal and external goals. Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of these critical business processes.
  • Motivate and lead a high performance operating team of over 100 associates; Attract, recruit and retain required members of the executive team not currently in place; provide mentoring as a cornerstone to the management career development program.
  • Assist, as required, in raising additional capital at appropriate valuations to enable the Cerami to meet sales, growth, and market share objectives.
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the Cerami. Responsible for motivating our people to achieve and surpass business goals and objectives by optimizing processes and enabling them to exercise personal initiative and responsibility.
  • Represent the firm with clients, investors, and business partners.

Reporting
Reports to Chief Executive Officer

Travel
This position is located in our New York Headquarters. Extensive travel is not required, however there should be the expectation that visits to regional offices (Philadelphia and DC) will occur.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree (at minimum) in engineering and/or in business
  • At least fifteen years in a senior operations management role, preferably in the construction or project engineering industry.
  • Strong project management background in building industry or complex technical projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean/Six Sigma or similar process design and improvement experience.
  • Previous experience overseeing engineering operations, human resources, information technology, and legal.
  • Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner, inspire and educate leadership team.
  • Possess personal qualities passionate responsibility, integrity, credibility, and commitment to corporate mission.
  • Flexible and able to multitask; will create an entrepreneurial culture, while driving toward clarity, innovation and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating market and financial analysis to assist in overall company planning.
