Cerami & Associates is currently providing acoustical consulting for the 190,000 square foot academic program along with a residential component of 114,000 square feet with 600 beds at the top of the academic building, along with 9,000 square feet of ground floor retail space. It’s particularly important to the University that the project achieve high sustainability ratings. As such, we are working closely with the design team to provide solutions that are within the LEED rating system.
The academic program includes Lobbies/ Atrium, 850-seat Auditorium, large Lecture Halls with sloped seating, Science Labs, Culinary Program, Café/ Food Service, Campus Service Facilities, MEP Spaces, Library, Studios, Classrooms, Faculty, Student, and University Resource Centers.
We surveyed hallway conditions in existing New School buildings to determine new design criteria that would allow for consistent noise levels throughout the campus. We also made recommendations for the lobby space, including acoustical panels for the length of the wall, desk, and stair area. Finally we reviewed all HVAC equipment.
