Commercial Buildings / Mixed Use / Projects

Located near Potsdamer Platz, the Sony Center is in the former “No Man’s Land” of the Berlin Wall, where all buildings were destroyed beginning in 1961. After the fall of the Wall, the square became the focus of the redevelopment effort and the Sony Center was constructed. For this “largest construction project in Europe” Cerami & Associates are acoustic consultants of record for all MEP issues with additional responsibility for I-Max and cinema architectural issues.

This project incorporates retail, office, residential, historic buildings, cinemas and an I-Max theater in over 8 separate buildings. Care to maintain acoustic separation for various spaces and archive the extremely stringent background sound levels required for the Sony cinemas and I-Max theater were the major issue.
