Cerami & Associates was hired as the acoustical consultant for Phases I and II of the Woodcreek campus and also for the renovation and expansion of the 200-acre Westhollow campus to update the facilities and consolidate from the Belaire campus.
Our team provided benchmarking for existing spaces including testing and polling of staff. This related to cost-savings for Shell, as we were able to provide custom solutions to respond to key employee concerns, rather than setting everything to a specific standard which might have been more than required. This approach allowed for the inclusion of modern furniture systems, while keeping similar speech privacy as enjoyed in the previous spaces.
The Westhollow projects included renovations and the updating of multiple buildings. The approach required not only bringing the modern office scheme into the buildings as with the Woodcreek projects, but also combining these spaces with lab space in the same building.
The HVAC systems were designed with both a traditional scheme for the lab spaces and also a hybrid above ceiling perimeter air and underfloor air system, believed to be the first of its kind. We reviewed the design and conducted mockups of these systems to ensure that acoustical goals were not affected.
The Woodcreek facilities are LEED Gold Certified.
