The purpose of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Center is to collect, preserve, and make available to the public the historical materials that tell the story of the presidency of Ronald Reagan. This 153,000 sf facility is home to more than 50 million pages of documents, 1.5 million photographs, and 75,000 gifts in honor of our former president, and features an exact replica of the Oval Office. Cerami & Associates worked closely with The Stubbins Associates on the acoustical design of the new Ronald Reagan Library.
Our work began by conducting studies and an analysis of the acoustical conditions at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and we used the results to establish the acoustical criteria for the Reagan Library. Through the specification of acoustical materials for the ceilings, floors, and walls in the various rooms of the library, we were able to create a comfortable acoustical environment throughout the facility.
We also studied the impact of exhibit rooms and atrium spaces on the adjacent office areas and provided recommendations for noise, vibration and seismic control measures in order to ensure that the facility met local, town, and state ordinances.
