The Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Visitor’s Center will serve to welcome visitors, allowing them to view maps of the gardens and discover the rich history of the area. The center includes an orientation room with HD displays and sound system, information lobby, gift shop, exhibition gallery, and cafe with a background music system, and an elliptical shaped Events Space outfit with a high-quality sound and presentation system to support of a wide variety of programs including lectures, presentations, cocktail parties, or receptions, as well as events for which the space is rented.
Our team focused on acoustical separation of spaces, especially where offices were adjacent to public areas. Particular attention was paid to the events space so that noise build up did not occur and to provide isolation from intrusive noise.
The first new structure at Brooklyn’s Botanic Garden in 20 years, the facility is designed to achieve LEED Gold certification.
