Cerami & Associates worked closely the design team on the Jersey City headquarters of a global financial firm. The scope of the project included open and closed plan offices, trading floors, conference rooms and auditoriums, learning centers, retail and hotel spaces.

One of the most challenging aspects of the project was in working with employees on the transition from their previous closed office plan environment, to the open plan office environment of the 30 Hudson office design. With the implementation of a sound masking system and carefully tested partitions, ceiling and floor finishes, the employees are now able to enjoy the benefits of collaboration in an open environment and privacy levels similar to those of closed offices.

For the executive offices and conference facilities, we reviewed the wall and door constructions, the wall treatments and the floor finishes to ensure maximum privacy for these spaces. We made sure that conversations held within these spaces could not be heard from adjacent rooms or hallways.

We also reviewed the emergency generator equipment to ensure that it complies with the New Jersey state noise codes. Emergency generators produce extremely high levels of noise and vibration, which we dampened with vibration isolation equipment.
